FAST-BI™ is a a dedicated solution, specifically developed by Delaware Consulting to ensure rapid implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) in an SAP context. Consisting of a template, FAST-BI™bundles years of experience and best practices into one single, generic solution that is applicable to most SAP BI customers.
The main component of FAST-BI™ is SAP BI, the engine of the BI platform providing analytical reporting capabilities. These capabilities allow end-users to analyze the data (e.g. the sales figures) using a wide set of parameters (e.g. customers, products, regions, time...).
The template includes the following modules:
- Sales and Distribution (SD): one sales cube combining sales orders, deliveries and billing
- Finance (FI), which combines General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. The template is compatible and ready for New GL.
- Controlling (CO): several cubes, including Cost Center Accounting, Cost Object Accounting, Profit Center Accounting and Profit Analysis as a set-up in COPA (also pushed into the BI platform)
- Product Planning (PP): cubes providing summary views on orders & materials, operations & workcenters and components
- Materials Management (MM): purchasing
- Master data: the FAST-BI™ template includes over 200 master data objects, which are kept in sync with the SAP ERP Central Component (ECC)
The FAST-BI™ solution also comes with a set of standard SAP querying tools, called the family of SAP Business Explorer tools (BEx).
Delaware Consulting’s FAST-BI™ solution can be seamlessly integrated into the tools of Business Objects, which was acquired by SAP in 2007. Business Objects tools will become the de-facto front-end tools to explore a company’s data. SAP Business Objects is not required to implement FAST-BI™ but it is an option, in line with SAP’s strategy for BI.
